As soon as Eros arrived in Longview, he knew he was destined to live there. The scenery was amazing and the view from his new home was so calm , relaxing and welcoming.
First thing in the morning he went and got a Job in the Payn Military base. It was his dream after all. Working in the SASA headquarters has always been his dream. And he finally made it there.
He thought, it would be a good idea to jog back to the main town, to get familiar with the scenery and meet some neighbors on the way.
Once he arrived at the park, he realised how friendly everyone was. Back in his hometown , Twinbrook, everyone was so cold and grumpy. But then again it could have been his father's shadow pushing everyone back. They weren't rumored as the friendlier family after all.
He has always been popular to the ladies though. And here , that, doesn't look like it has changed at all. In fact the rumor that a handsome young bachelor has moved into town, has even reached his own ears, even though he was in Longview for less than a day. It didn't take much long for him to verify that those rumors were indeed about him.
A handful of beautiful seductive women surrounded him in no time trying to chat him up, with the excuse of welcoming him into Town
Duchy Sim was the first to make a move on him and he definitely didn't push her off.
However, he already had managed to set a date with Auntie Lynds for Tuesday afternoon, so he preferred to save offers to "show him around town" for a little later.
He returned home rather early, since he wanted to get ready for his first day at work next morning. And of course he had to dedicate some time to his own personal project, to be the first to discover life on the planet Salina'ar.
He kept researching every night, through books and his telescope. And now, with his new job, he was one step closer.
Tuesday morning, he got up a little earlier to get ready for his first day at work. He wanted to be an astronaut and he had to make sure to impress the general and co-soldiers on day one. He had to show them that he deserved to be called an Amore, as the name was well known here as well due to his uncle's work. He was already given a job in the project solely because of his name and skills, but he had to prove that he was worth it.
And there he was, 7am and already on duty. To his surprise , he was leaded immediately to Hermes Amore 2 shuttle.
He was dazed by it's beauty. So this was it. His uncles project. He couldn't believe in his eyes what work has been done since his uncle died. Of course it's been 22 years, but he never expected for the project to have gone this far. He was informed that the Shuttle was not ready to fly yet. It needed more work. That was his chance then. He would push himself hard to make sure that he will be one of the lucky few to be in Hermes Amore 2 , when it finally left the ground for the first time.
The training was harder than he expected. He struggled through it all day. But seeing Hermes Amore 2 standing majestically next to the training field, he felt powerful and strong enough to overcome everything. His uncle's vision, Eros's own dream was there a few yards away from him. He was strong enough to fight his way in it. And he would.

I'm kind of sad in real life they are ending the Space Shuttle program. I remember when they launched the first one when I was a kid. Eros is a fascinating character, Gem! I look forward to going to the next chapter now and seeing what else he is doing. I love this story! --SummerSong86
